Coronavirus Covid-19 is a new strain in the family of Coronavirus that was discovered in the year 2019 and such kind of virus was never found in a human before 2019.
In a simple case, it causes common cold, bronchitis or pneumonia but in severe cases, it can cause diseases like Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) as well as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). In a research study, it was found that disease like SARS-CoV is mainly transmitted from civet cat to human whereas MERS-CoV is transmitted to humans from dromedary camel. There are several types of known coronavirus there are circulating in animals but still, they have not infected the humans.
The disease originated from a Wuhan seafood market where wild animals, including marmots, birds, rabbits, bats and snakes, are traded illegally. Usually, this virus is found in the bodies of these animals, but now it has jumped from animals to humans. It is believed that the COVID-19 coronavirus that is causing the pandemic at the moment has actually leaked from a Chinese lab, but some folks including the U.S. and China have suggested that this may be a bioweapon that was manufactured in a lab.
