What is Apple CarPlay?
Apple CarPlay is a connected-car application from Apple that enables a car radio or head unit to become a display and controller for an iPhone. It is an in-vehicle infotainment system which converts your in-car touchscreen system into a phone-like interface once linked to your iPhone. It allows automakers to replace the old-fashioned infotainment systems with a display that interfaces the most famous mobile device of this era, the iPhone. A few carmakers around the world have already incorporated Apple CarPlay in their vehicles, and those who have not done it yet, have announced to include it in their cars’ infotainment systems in near future.

You just have to connect an iPhone to your car and the multimedia screen in your car will become the interface for your iPhone.
